About Heritage Woodcrafts – Architect, Interior & Structural Design in South Delhi
Our workshop is at 78-B, Adchini, right on Shri Aurobindo Marg, opposite the Desu office. It’s a spot where you’ll always hear the sound of sawing and see sawdust on everything. Heritage Woodcrafts is really just a bunch of guys who like working with wood. We don’t have a polished showroom with bright lights. Most of our pieces are sitting around in various stages of being finished. Some are just raw timber, and others are getting their last coat of polish. It’s a bit cramped because we have so many tools and slabs of wood taking up space. Shri Aurobindo Marg is always busy with cars, so it’s quite a contrast when you step inside and just smell the cedar or teak. We don't use a lot of fancy machinery; a lot of what we do is still done by hand. Sometimes a project takes longer than we thought because the wood has a knot we didn't see or the weather is too humid for the finish to dry. We don’t mind, though. We’d rather get it right than rush it. We aren't big on advertising. People usually see us working when they’re stuck in traffic outside and decide to pop in. It’s just an honest, dusty woodshop doing what we know how to do. We’ve been here for years, just making things one piece at a time and dealing with the noise of the city.
