Happily Unmarried

Our office for Happily Unmarried is down in the basement at 5M, Shahpur Jat. If you’ve ever been to Shahpur Jat, you know how the lanes are—narrow, winding, and full of little shops and designers. Being in a basement means it stays a bit cooler, which is a relief in the summer, though it can get a bit dark if we don't have all the lights on. It’s a bit of a messy space because we have boxes of products everywhere. We make stuff that’s meant to be a bit fun and different, but the actual work is just like any other job. We spend our time packing orders, checking inventory, and arguing about what music to play. The neighborhood is always buzzing with people, so there’s always a bit of noise from the street above us. Sometimes the delivery guys have a hard time finding the exact entrance because the numbering in this area is a bit chaotic. We’ve got a small couch that’s seen better days and a table where we eat our lunch. It’s not a corporate headquarters by any stretch of the imagination. It’s just where we happen to work. We don’t really do fancy meetings; we just talk over our desks. It’s a practical space for us to figure out new ideas and keep the business going. We like being in this part of town despite the parking issues and the occasional leaky pipe.
