Gaurisha Mercantile is located up on the fourth floor of building 432 in Sant Nagar. If you’ve ever been to this part of New Delhi, you’ll know the streets are quite narrow and there’s always something happening outside. Being on the fourth floor means we get a bit of a workout every day, especially when the weather is hot and we have to go up and down for errands. Our office isn’t huge, but it fits everything we need for our trading work. We spend most of the day on the phone or working through stacks of papers and ledgers. Sant Nagar has a very local feel to it, and we’ve gotten to know the neighbors around here pretty well over time. It’s not the kind of place where people wear suits every day. We usually just dress comfortably and get to work. The tea stall downstairs is where we usually end up talking about the day's business. Trading involves a lot of back and forth, and sometimes things get delayed, but we just deal with it as it comes. We aren't trying to be some big corporate entity; we are just a small team trying to keep the business running smoothly from this little corner of Delhi. Most days are just about checking prices and making sure the deliveries are on their way to wherever they need to go. It’s a basic setup that works for us.
