Our place is on the first floor of these D.D.A. Flats in East Of Kailash. It’s a double storey setup, and Everest Industries Ltd takes up one of the units at C-144. Being in New Delhi means it’s always busy around here. We have neighbors living right next to the office, so it’s got a very residential feel. You can hear the sounds of the neighborhood all day. We do a lot of the planning and administrative stuff from this location. The rooms are a bit cramped because of all the files and samples we keep around. It’s not the kind of office you see in movies with glass walls. It’s more like a lived-in space where work actually happens. We drink a lot of tea and talk about the schedules. Finding parking near the flats is always a bit of a challenge for visitors. Most of us take the metro or walk from the nearby bus stop. We’ve been at this address for a good while. It’s convenient for getting across the city. The stairs to the first floor are a bit narrow, so moving big boxes is always an adventure. We mainly focus on managing the projects and making sure the paperwork for the materials is in order. It’s a practical spot for us. No one wears suits unless there’s a big meeting. Usually, it’s just shirts and trousers and getting the job done before the day ends. We keep it simple here.
