Our place is located on Bandh Road at number 613, right near Holy Chowk in Sainik Farms. It is a heavy job working with batteries all day. They are bulky and the acid has a very specific smell that stays in your clothes. We have stacks of them piled up against the walls, mostly for cars and those big home inverters that people need when the power goes out. The floor is concrete and has some stains from over the years, which is just part of the business. We spend a lot of time checking water levels and testing voltages. Holy Chowk is a busy spot, so there is always noise from the traffic outside. The shop stays quite cool in the winter because of the thick walls, but in the summer, we have to keep the big front door wide open to let the air circulate. We have a small desk where we keep the ledger and the receipts, though it is usually buried under a bunch of cables. It is a bit of a tight squeeze when we get a delivery of new stock, and we have to move everything around to make room. Most of our neighbors around Sainik Farms know us by name now. We are not trying to be anything fancy, just a local shop where you can get a battery charged or swapped out without too much fuss. It is hard work on the back, but it keeps us busy.
