Digikargha Foundation North

We are in Flat No. 32 at the SFS DDA flats in Vijay Mandal Enclave. It is a nice part of New Delhi. Our foundation is called Digikargha Foundation North, and we work on things related to traditional weaving and also digital tools. It is an interesting mix of things. Our office is just one of the rooms in the flat, so it is quite small. We have a lot of textile samples lying around and a few computers where we do our digital work. It is not a formal office environment at all. We often sit and have tea while we talk about our projects. Vijay Mandal Enclave is a peaceful area, which helps us focus. We don't have a lot of employees, just a few of us who really care about these crafts. We spend a lot of time visiting weavers in other parts of the country and then coming back here to do the administrative work. We don’t have a big budget for advertising, so we just rely on word of mouth and our own efforts to get things known. It can be a struggle to keep everything going, but we enjoy what we do. We aren't trying to be a huge agency. We just want to help artisans use modern tools to keep their traditions alive. That is what we are about. We usually stay late most evenings to finish the paperwork.
