Our office is located at A/94 in Dayanand Colony, which is part of the larger Lajpat Nagar area. It’s a busy place to be. Design Consultants India Pvt Ltd is the official name, but we’re a fairly small group of people. The building is one of those typical South Delhi constructions with a narrow staircase and a small balcony that looks out over the street. We use the balcony mainly to store extra chairs and occasionally to catch some sun when it's not too hot. Inside, the air conditioner hums quite loudly, but we’ve stopped noticing it. There are wires running along the floor because we keep adding more gadgets and computers. It’s not the most organized looking place, but we get the job done. Lajpat Nagar is great for food, so lunch is always the highlight of the day for us. We don't have a big corporate culture here. We mostly just talk across the room instead of sending emails to each other. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait for the generator to kick in, which gives us a five-minute break to just chat about regular things. It’s a practical workspace for people who actually do the work themselves. We’ve been at this address for years and know all the local shopkeepers. It’s just our little hub in a very crowded city. We like the energy of the colony.
