Our office for Delhi Metro Rail Corp Ltd is located at 69-G in Pocket-K of Sheikh Sarai Phase-II. It’s a pretty standard spot in New Delhi 110017. We have a few rooms where we handle the administrative side of the metro projects. It’s not one of those fancy glass buildings you see on the news. It’s a practical space in a residential pocket. The walls could use a fresh coat of paint, but it works for us. We spend our days looking at schedules and dealing with various contractors who come by. There are about six of us here on a regular day. We usually get our lunch from the local shops nearby. It’s a very human atmosphere. We don’t have a big HR department or a cafeteria. We just have a small kitchen where we make our own tea and coffee. The work is steady and sometimes repetitive, but it’s important for keeping the city moving. We’ve been in Sheikh Sarai for a while, and we like the neighborhood. It’s easy to get to, and it’s not as chaotic as the main business districts. We aren't here to impress anyone with our decor. We are just here to do the work that the Delhi Metro Rail Corp Ltd needs us to do. It’s a simple, hardworking environment. Sometimes the fans make a lot of noise, but we’re used to it. We just focus on the folders in front of us and get home on time.
