We are located at 539, Hawa Singh Block, right inside the Asian Games Village in New Delhi. Working for the Delhi Development Authority from this spot means there is always a huge stack of paperwork on the desks. The building has been around for a long time, and you can really tell by the way the hallways and the walls look. It is a very busy environment with people coming in and out all day asking about housing or land issues. We spend a lot of our time looking at maps and old files that have been piled up over the years. The 110049 area is quite famous because of the history of the village, and it is a decent place to be based for work. It is not a quiet office, that is for sure. Phones are usually ringing and there is always someone looking for a specific form they need to fill out. We just try to keep up with the long queue of people waiting for help. Sometimes the computers are a bit slow, which can be frustrating when you have a lot to get through before the day ends. Our team is mostly folks who have been in government service for a long time. We do not have any fancy decorations on the walls, just the usual official notices and calendars. It is a practical office where the main goal is just managing the city's growth one file at a time.
