D Nuts

Our little spot is located at number 13 in the Malviya Nagar Main Market. We call the place D Nuts. As the name suggests, we mainly sell nuts like walnuts, almonds, cashews, and whatever else happens to be in season. The market here is always crowded and noisy, which is something we have just gotten used to over the years. We keep the nuts in big glass jars or plastic bins. People like to see exactly what they are buying before they pay. We spend a lot of our time weighing out small bags for people who want a quick snack while they are walking around the market. Then there are the regular families who come in to buy in kilos for their cooking or for festivals. We try to keep the quality good, checking through the bins for any pieces that look a bit off. It is a repetitive job, filling bags and tying them up with string, but it is what we do. The smell of roasted peanuts is often in the air around our front door. We don't have a fancy website or a big marketing team behind us. We just have a shop and some nuts. Sometimes we have to deal with the Delhi heat affecting the freshness, so we stay very careful about how things are stored in the back. If you are walking through Malviya Nagar, you will probably see us right there in the middle of the chaos. It is a decent way to live and work.
