Our office is up on the 8th floor of Hemkunt Chambers, right in the middle of Nehru Place. If you've ever been to 89 Nehru Place, you know how busy it gets around here. We spend a lot of time at Room 801 looking over files and talking about the industry. The elevators can be a real pain during lunch hour when everyone is heading out. Being near Paras Cinema is a good landmark, though we don't get much time to catch any movies. The Construction Industry Development Council has a lot of paperwork to get through most weeks. It’s not just about the big projects you see outside, but all the small details that happen behind the scenes. The air conditioning in the building struggles sometimes when it’s really hot out, but we make do. We’ve got a view of the city from up here, but mostly we are looking at our desks. People come in and out for meetings all day long. It's a mix of different people from all over the sector. We try to keep things organized, even when the pile of documents gets a bit high. It’s a steady kind of work, nothing too flashy. We just try to keep the wheels turning for the industry. Some days are longer than others, especially when there's a big deadline, but that’s life in a Nehru Place office. We stay focused on the task at hand and try to get home before the traffic gets too bad. It is what it is.
