Being in the market is great for lunch options, but carrying heavy samples up the stairs can be a real pain sometimes. Our office is a mix of porcelain samples and stacks of invoices. It’s not a showroom where everything is perfectly polished and lit up. It’s a working space. We deal with suppliers and customers all day, mostly talking about shipping dates and material quality. We’ve been in the porcelain business for a good number of years now. We started small and we’ve stayed at a size that we can manage ourselves without needing a ton of managers. When you call us, you’re usually talking to one of the people who actually owns the place or has been here forever. We don't have a script for how to talk to people. We just tell you what the situation is with your order. Some days the phones don't stop ringing and it feels a bit chaotic, but we always manage to get things sorted by the time we lock up. We aren't trying to change the world or anything; we are just providing a product that people need and trying to earn a living doing it. It’s a simple, practical way to spend the work week here in the middle of the market.
