Chaka Vak Foundation

We've been running the Chaka Vak Foundation out of Batla House for a while now. If you know the Okhla area, we are over at O-73 on the third floor along Nafees Road. It's right near Al-Noor Masjid in the Joga Bhai Extension. It gets pretty busy around here, especially with the narrow lanes, but we like being in the middle of everything in South Delhi. Most people just walk over since it's easy to find once you get to the mosque. The office is nothing fancy, just a workspace where we get things done. We started this because we saw things that needed fixing right here in the neighborhood. Sometimes the power goes out or the traffic is a mess, but that’s just life in this part of Delhi. We spend most of our days dealing with whatever paperwork comes in or talking to folks from the nearby blocks. It’s a local operation, mostly just neighbors helping neighbors. We don’t have a big staff or anything like that. It’s just us working out of this flat on Nafees Road. If you’re coming by, look for the sign near the stairs. It’s the top floor, so it gets a bit warm in the summer, but we make it work. We’ve been part of the community here for a bit and plan to stay. Nothing much else to say, it’s just our daily routine and we try to keep things simple and honest for everyone.
