Capital Embroidery Works

Capital Embroidery Works is tucked away at 27/19, Zakir Nagar, in the Okhla area. If you know this part of Delhi, you know how crowded and narrow the lanes can get. Our workshop is right in the thick of it. There is always a lot of energy in Zakir Nagar, with people shouting and bikes squeezing past each other all day long. Inside our space, it is a different kind of busy. We have the machines going and people focused on their needles. It’s a bit cramped because we have so much thread and fabric stored in every available corner. We’ve been at this address for a long time now. We don't have a big office or any corporate polish. It’s just a local workshop where the work happens. The lighting isn't the best, and it can get pretty hot in the summer months, but we just put the fans on and keep going. We usually get our tea from the shop just down the lane. It’s a tight-knit community here. Everyone knows everyone else’s business. Capital Embroidery Works isn't trying to be a giant company. We are just a group of people who are good at what they do. Sometimes we stay late when there is a lot of work to finish, but that’s just the nature of it. It’s a noisy, messy, but good place to work. We just focus on the task right in front of us.
