Basic Crafts

Basic Crafts is our little shop over in Malviya Nagar. We’re right in the Central Market at number 34. If you’ve ever been to the market, you know it’s always crowded and full of energy. We’ve been here for a while, selling all kinds of craft supplies and bits and pieces. The shop is pretty small and we have stuff stacked all the way to the ceiling. It’s a bit of a squeeze sometimes when there are more than two or three people inside. We don’t really have a big staff, just a couple of us who know where everything is hidden. It’s not a polished store like you’d see in a big mall. We have wooden shelves and some of the labels are handwritten. People come in looking for specific things for their projects, and we do our best to find them in the piles. Being in Malviya Nagar Central Market is great because there’s always something happening outside. We aren't trying to be the most modern shop around. We just like crafts and we like being part of the local community. Sometimes we get a bit behind on tidying up, but that’s just life in a busy market. We’ve got a regular group of folks who stop by just to see what’s new or to chat about what they are making. It’s a simple business, and we’re happy to keep it that way.
