Being based at Rajiv Gandhi Bhawan near the Safdarjung Airport means there is always something going on around us. The Airports Authority Of India has a lot of history in this building, and you can feel it when you walk through the halls. It is not like those brand new corporate parks you see in Gurgaon. This place feels real and has a lot of character. We spend our days handling all the paperwork and coordination that comes with managing skies and runways. You can hear the hum of the city outside, but inside we are usually focused on the tasks at hand. The morning commute through Delhi can be a bit of a headache, but once we get to the airport area, things settle into a rhythm. We have a lot of different people coming in and out, from pilots to office staff, and everyone has a story to tell. Our desks are often piled with files and maps because that is just the nature of what we do. We eat our lunch together and talk about normal things, not just work. It is a big organization, but in our corner of the building, it feels more like a community. We have seen the airport change over the years, yet the core of our daily life here stays pretty much the same. We just show up, do our jobs, and make sure everything is running like it should be.
