We’ve got stacks of tyres everywhere and rows of batteries on the shelves. It smells like rubber and old metal in here, but we’re used to it. The shop is 282/BMK. We don't have a lot of space for people to sit around, so most folks just wait outside or stand by the counter. We spend a lot of time lifting heavy things and checking tire pressures. It’s physical work. Some days the sun hits the front of the shop really hard and it gets warm. We keep water in the back for that. We aren't trying to be a fancy showroom. We just have the stuff people need for their cars and bikes. Most of our regulars are from the neighborhood or drivers coming from the depot. We talk to people about their vehicles and what’s acting up. There’s no script here. We just say what we see. If a battery is dead, it’s dead. We handle the swaps and the fitting. It’s a straightforward business. We’ve been at this spot for a while and the location works well for us. It gets dusty, but we keep the stock moving through.
