We are over at Govinda Nagar No 2 on Havelock Island. The specific address is 153-1, and the business is run by Mr. S. Siva and Mr. S. Raja Gopal. Being on Havelock is quite different from being in Port Blair. It is all about the beach and the ocean here. We spend our time managing the resort and making sure everything is ready for the people who arrive on the ferry. It’s a lot of hands-on work. Siva and Raja Gopal are usually around, making sure things are moving as they should. We don't have a lot of polished marketing materials or a big corporate structure. We are just a local resort where we try to keep things simple. Sometimes the power goes out or the supplies from the mainland are late, but that is just part of island life. We have our routine of checking the rooms and the grounds every morning. The Govinda Nagar area is a nice part of Havelock, and we enjoy being part of the community here. Most of our day is spent talking to guests or dealing with the small repairs that always seem to need doing. It’s a busy life but we wouldn't have it any other way. We just try to offer a practical place for people to stay while they enjoy the island. There is always plenty of sand and salt to deal with around the office.
