Andaman Institute For Computer Education is located in the Samiti Complex, specifically in Room No F 31. We are based in Subhashbazar, which is in Diglipur, up in the North and Middle Andaman region. Being out here means things move at a slightly different pace than the mainland. Our institute is a simple place where we have some computers set up for people to learn. It isn't a high-tech campus with glass walls. It is a room in a local complex where the community comes to get some skills. We spend a lot of our time making sure the internet is working and the power stays on, which can be a bit of a challenge sometimes in this part of the islands. The room is usually full of students in the afternoons after their regular school or work. We don't have a big marketing budget or flashy posters. Word gets around the bazaar that we are here, and that is how most people find us. It gets quite warm, so we have the windows open or the fans on high. We focus on the basics of using a computer and helping people feel more comfortable with technology. It is a quiet kind of work, but it feels good to see people learning something new. Diglipur is a close-knit place, and we are just happy to be a small part of it for all these years.
