Ummat Public School

Ummat Public School is right on M.G. Road at Middle Point in Port Blair. Being in the middle of town means it’s always active around here. You can see the shops and the people walking by all day long. We don't have a big fancy campus with gates and guards everywhere. It’s a more open kind of place. We’ve been here for a long time, so most of the locals know the name. The building is a bit old, and the salt air from the sea does a number on the paint, so we are always touching things up. We don't have a marketing department to write this. It's just one of the staff sitting at a desk. We spend our time checking attendance and making sure the classrooms have enough light. Sometimes it gets really hot, and we just have to open all the windows and hope for a breeze. It’s a simple school. We have students from all over Port Blair. Some come by bus, others walk. We don’t have much in the way of big events or shiny trophies, just regular classes. The office is usually cluttered with papers and books. We try to keep things organized, but it’s a busy spot. If you’re ever walking down M.G. Road, you’ll see us there. We are just a local school trying to do our part for the kids in this community. It is a plain and honest way to live.
