Babu Lane is where our office is, over in the Junglighat area of Port Blair. Our place is quite close to the Tci Building, which is how most people find their way to us. It is a local travel business, and we have been around for a few years now. The office is just a simple room with a few tables and computers. We spend our time booking tours and helping people figure out how to get from one island to another. Junglighat is a busy neighborhood, so there is always something going on outside our door. We are not a big fancy company, just a small group of us who know the Andamans well. We talk to boat captains and hotel owners every day to keep things moving. Sometimes things do not go as planned because of the rain or ferry delays, and we just have to figure it out as we go. We do not have a big marketing department or polished brochures. We just talk to people and tell them what is available. It is a lot of phone work and paperwork. We like being in Babu Lane because it is a real part of the town, not just a tourist trap. Most of our work comes from word of mouth or people just walking in. We try to be honest about the costs and what to expect on the islands. It is just the way we do things around here.
