Mondal Handicrafts

We are Mondal Handicrafts. We’re based in Narayanpur, which is in the Bhangar area, near Haroa. It’s in North 24-Praganas in West Bengal. Being out here, away from the big city noise, is actually quite nice for the kind of work we do. Narayanpur is a place where people still make things with their hands. We’ve been here for quite some time, just doing our thing. It’s a lot of work, honestly. Handicrafts take time and patience. We don’t have a big factory or anything like that. It’s more of a local setup where we focus on the details of what we’re making. The area around here is pretty green and quiet compared to Kolkata. We just spend our days working on different pieces. Sometimes we have a lot of help, and other times it’s just a few of us. We don't really use any big words to describe ourselves. We’re just makers. That’s the simplest way to put it. People in the village know us, and we’ve been part of this community for generations, really. We don't have a fancy website or any of that. We just rely on how the pieces look and feel when they're done. It’s a slow process, but we like it that way. We just keep working at our pace here in Narayanpur, and that seems to be enough. We don't really feel the need to rush things. We just take it day by day and see what we can finish.
