Suranath Tutorial Home

Suranath Tutorial Home is tucked away on Sister Nivendite Sarani Lane, right by the Alo Office in the 700152 area of Kolkata. It is a quiet little lane, which is actually pretty good for a tutorial home because there aren't many cars honking outside. We have been running this place for a good number of years now. It really is a home-style setup. We use the front rooms for the classes and the students just come in and find a spot. There is no big reception desk or anything like that. You just walk in and start your work. We mostly help out kids from the nearby houses with their daily homework and exam preparations. Because we are near the Alo Office, most people know the general direction to head in. The atmosphere is very relaxed. We aren't strict in a scary way, but we do make sure the work gets done before the session is over. On some evenings, the lane gets quite dark, but the lights from the houses keep it feeling safe and welcoming. We have seen a lot of students grow up here, starting when they were small and staying with us until they finished school. It is just a local spot where learning is a part of the neighborhood life. Nothing too fancy, just a solid place to study and get some help with the books, which is exactly what the kids need around here.
