Shantibarta Foundation

We are based in a small village called Kalikapur, in the Haroa area of North Parganas. Our office is at Nahar Kuti, which is Mahabub Alam’s place. It is a bit of a trip from the main city, but this is where the work is really needed. We do not have a big sign or anything like that. Most people around here just know us as the folks at Shantibarta. We spend our days dealing with local issues and helping out where we can. It is a rural spot, so things move a bit slower than in Kolkata. We like it that way. There is a lot of green around us and the people are mostly friendly. We started this because we saw things in the village that needed fixing and figured we could help. We are not experts with degrees in everything. We are just local people who care about our neighbors. The address is 743445 if you are looking for it. Our office is simple, just a few chairs and a table where we meet. We do not spend money on fancy furniture or big advertisements. We would rather use what we have for the actual projects we are working on. Sometimes we are busy with school stuff, other times it is health or just helping someone with their paperwork. It is just daily life for us. We do not make a big deal out of it, we just stay busy.
