R. S. Export

R. S. Export is situated at 33-B, Topsia Rd., and if you know that area, you know it’s a hub for all kinds of manufacturing and trade. Our building is a bit grey and blends in with the others on the street, but there’s a lot going on inside. We usually start the day very early to beat the worst of the heat and the traffic. Inside, there are stacks of materials and several desks where we try to keep the orders organized. It’s a lot of manual checking and making sure the numbers match up on the sheets. We have a few guys who handle the loading, and there’s always a bit of a wait for the trucks to get through the narrow parts of the road. We’ve been at this location for a while, so we know the neighbors and the local shops where we get our lunch. The office isn't air-conditioned in every room, so we keep the fans going at full speed most of the year. It’s not a glamorous job, just a lot of coordination and making sure the goods get where they are supposed to go. We don't have a big marketing department or anything; we just rely on the work we’ve done before. Most of the time, the floor is covered in scraps and packing materials until we do a big cleanup on Saturday afternoons when we can finally see the floor.
