About Daffodil Study Centre – Education in South 24 Parganas
Down in Picnic Garden, you’ll find the Daffodil Study Centre. We started this because there was a need for a place where people could just focus and get some learning done. It’s not some big university campus. It’s just a space we’ve set up right here in the neighborhood. We wanted to keep it local because that’s where the students are. Picnic Garden is a busy area, but once you step inside, it’s a bit more focused. We have desks and chairs and books everywhere. It’s not perfectly organized all the time, but we make it work. Usually, there’s a lot of chatter before everyone settles down to work. We don’t have any fancy mission statements or anything like that. We just help people with their studies. Some days it’s quiet, and some days every seat is taken. We spend a lot of time just going over things and making sure everyone understands the material. It’s a lot of repetition, but that’s how learning happens. We aren't trying to be the biggest centre in the city. We just want to be the one that people in Picnic Garden can rely on. It’s rewarding in its own way, seeing people get better at what they’re doing. We’re just regular people who like to teach and help out where we can. We stay open late most nights because that is when the help is most needed for the exams and homework.
