Peace Survey Group

Out here in Bahirkanchali, things move a bit slower than in the big cities. We’re located in South 24 Parganas, specifically in the Kashinagar area near Raidighi. Ajoy Baidya is the one who keeps things moving around here. Being a survey group, we spend a lot of time outdoors walking the land and checking boundaries. The weather can be tough, especially when the rains come through West Bengal, but we manage to stay on track. Our office isn’t much to look at, just a place to keep our equipment and sort through the data we collect. It’s a local operation, so we know most of the people around the village. People come to us when they need to figure out exactly where their property lines are or if they’re planning to build something new. We don’t have a big team, just a few of us who know the terrain well. It takes time to get things right with the measurements, so we don't like to rush. Sometimes we have to travel quite a bit to reach the different sites across the districts. It’s honest work, even if it’s tiring being out in the sun all day. We’ve been in this spot for a while now and the locals know where to find us if they have a problem with their land maps or need a survey done for a new fence. We just keep doing our work out here.
