Mamta Hardware

If you walk down Pirpukur Road to number 470, you will find us easily. We are a small hardware shop and the place is basically packed from the floor to the ceiling with everything you can imagine. We have bins full of nails, rows of different sized pipes, and cans of paint stacked up in the back corner. It is hard to move around sometimes because we have so much stuff in such a small space. We know exactly where everything is, even if it looks like a complete mess to someone else coming in for the first time. People from the neighborhood come in for a single bolt or a specific tool they cannot find anywhere else in the area. We spend a lot of time searching through drawers and climbing old ladders to reach the top shelves. The light inside is not the best but we have a couple of bright bulbs hanging over the counter. There is always a smell of oil and cold metal in the air. We don't do anything fancy with the shop display. It is just a place for people on Pirpukur Road to get what they need for their home repairs. Most of the day is spent talking to the regulars and cutting pieces of wire or rope to the right length. It is a slow and steady kind of work. We have been at this for years and we do not plan on changing much.
