Macneill Engineering Ltd. is located down on D.H Road in the South 24 Parganas district of West Bengal. It’s a bit of a drive out here, but we’ve been part of this landscape for a long time. The facility is where all the actual engineering work happens. It’s a large space with a lot of metal and the smell of oil and grease, which is pretty common for an engineering firm. We spend our days looking at technical drawings and making sure the machines are doing what they are supposed to do. The road outside can get quite congested with trucks, especially during the monsoon when the rain makes everything a bit messy. Inside, it's a different story with everyone focused on their tasks. We don’t have any fancy signs or a big marketing department. Most of our work comes from long-standing relationships with other businesses who know where we are. The staff is a mix of older guys who have been here forever and some younger folks learning the trade. We have a small canteen where we eat lunch and talk about local news. It’s a honest day's work. We don't try to make it sound more exciting than it is. We fix things, we build things, and we make sure the parts are right. If you’re looking for us, just follow D.H Road until you see our gate. It’s a plain building but it serves its purpose for us.
