Ipca Lab Ltd

Ipca Lab Ltd is situated at 39 Dr B C Roy Road, in the Sonarpur area of Kolkata. It’s a bit of a trek for some of us, especially if the trains are running late or if it’s raining hard, which happens quite a bit in this part of the country. The office is out near Dakshin Jagal, so it feels a little less cramped than the city center, which is nice. Since it’s a lab environment, things have to be kept a certain way, but in the break room, it’s just us talking about football or what’s for dinner. We have a lot of equipment around and everyone is usually focused on their own corner of the room. It’s a lot of quiet work, interrupted by the occasional tea break. Sonarpur has its own pace, a bit slower than the main parts of Kolkata. We see the same people every day on the walk from the station. The building itself is sturdy and does the job. We don’t have fancy paintings on the walls or anything, just the stuff we need to work. Sometimes we stay late when there’s a lot of testing to do, but mostly we try to wrap up on time. It’s just a place where people work hard and try to get home to their families. The area is growing, so there’s always some construction noise nearby.
