Freewishdom Foundation

The Freewishdom Foundation is based out of Barrackpore. We are located at Bikram Chandra Das's house on Sadhukhan Lane. It is a quiet little spot in North 24 Parganas. Working out of a house makes everything feel more personal and less like a cold institution. We have our office set up in a couple of the rooms there. West Bengal can be quite humid, so we usually have the windows open to catch any breeze coming through the lane. Sadhukhan Lane is narrow, so it is mostly just foot traffic and the occasional cycle. It makes for a peaceful environment to get our work done. We are not a massive organization with hundreds of employees. It is just a few of us making sure things move forward. We handle our own paperwork and keep the place tidy. Most of the local people know Bikram’s house, so finding us isn't too difficult if you are from around here. We just have a calendar and some notes on what needs to happen by the end of the week. It is a very grounded way to run a foundation. We focus on the daily chores and the people who need our help.
