Our office is over here on Nangi Station Road, right in the Batanagar area of Kolkata. Most people know us because we are situated where Quality Polymer Products is, so it is easy to find if you are coming from the station. The road outside stays pretty busy with people heading to the trains, and there is always a bit of a crowd near the gates. Inside, things are a bit quieter, though you can still hear the distant sounds of the horns and the local market stalls setting up in the morning. We have been in this spot for a while now. The building itself is older, and sometimes the stairs feel a bit steep after a long day of work. We usually keep the windows shut to block out the dust from the road, but the light still comes in fine. There is a small tea stall just a few steps away where most of us grab a quick drink in the afternoon when things get slow. It is not a fancy place by any means, just a regular workspace where we get our daily tasks done. Sometimes the electricity flickers when the monsoon rains hit hard, but we just wait it out and get back to what we were doing. Most of the people working here live nearby, so we have a good understanding of the local neighborhood and how the traffic flows around the station at peak hours. It is just a simple part of the city and we have grown to like the rhythm of the trains.
