Badri Nath Paan Bhander

You can find Badri Nath Paan Bhander in the village of Mahabhairab. We are part of the Tezpur tehsil and our little shop is right near the A.S.E.B. Road. It’s a quiet spot for the most part, surrounded by trees and a few other small houses. I started this shop because there wasn’t much else around for people who wanted a quick break or something to chew on. It’s just a small wooden structure with a tin roof that gets very loud when it rains. I have a few benches outside where people can sit and talk for a bit. Most of my customers are people from the village or workers from the electricity board who are passing by. I keep the shop stocked with the usual pan, some snacks, and local tobacco. It isn’t a place that makes a lot of money, but it’s enough to keep the family going. I don't have any help, so I’m here from early morning until the sun goes down. The road gets a bit busy with trucks sometimes, but otherwise, it’s a peaceful place to spend the day. I don’t have any fancy decorations, just some old posters on the wall. People like it because it’s simple and they know they can get a friendly word here. I just try to keep the leaves fresh and the jars full. It’s a small life but it suits me just fine.
