Our place is situated on National Highway-52 in Sonipur. It’s a convenient spot because we’re right on the main road, though it can get quite loud with all the heavy traffic. Sawhney India Pvt Ltd is a company we’ve built up over the years. We do a variety of things here, mostly centered around trade and local distribution of goods. The office is pretty basic—just some desks, some filing cabinets, and a lot of tea being drunk. We don’t really go in for the corporate lifestyle or polished presentations. We prefer being on the ground, talking to the drivers and the people we buy from. The building isn't anything special to look at, but it's sturdy and keeps the rain out. We have a small yard in the back where we keep some of our equipment and vehicles. Sonipur is a good place to be, even if it’s a bit far from the big cities. We know most of the people around here by name. Our team is small, so we don't have a lot of hierarchy. If something needs doing, someone just does it without making a fuss. We don't have any polished brochures or a big mission statement. We just show up every day, handle our business, and try to do right by the people we work with. It's a lot of phone calls and ledger work, but it keeps the business running.
