Sugicoin Mediquip Pvt. Ltd. is out in Rai at the Hsidc Industrial Estate. Our space covers units 1701 to 1704. It is a large facility because the medical equipment we work with takes up a lot of room. There is always the sound of machines or tools being used in the background. We have a concrete floor that stays cool even when it is hot outside. The workers wear uniforms and spend most of their shift putting parts together or testing the equipment. We have a big loading dock where the trucks come in to pick up the finished products. Sometimes the power goes out for a bit and we have to wait for the generator to kick in. It is a very practical atmosphere with no time for fancy talk. We eat our lunch together in a small room off to the side. There are blueprints and technical drawings pinned up on the walls near the assembly area. We have to be very precise with what we do because medical gear cannot have mistakes. It’s a lot of responsibility but we are used to the routine by now. We don’t do much in the way of promotion. We just focus on the manufacturing and making sure the crates are loaded properly before they leave the estate. Rai is a long way from the city center but it gives us the room we need to operate.
