Shamsher & Co.

We are located on Gohana Road in Gohana. If you are coming through town, you will find us near the City Hospital and Chotu Ram Chowk. It is a very busy intersection and there are always people and rickshaws moving around outside. Our business, Shamsher & Co., has been here for a long time. We do a bit of everything, mostly dealing with general supplies and things people need for their homes or shops. The building is a bit old and we have painted the sign a few times over the years to keep it readable. It gets very noisy with the hospital traffic and the buses going towards the chowk, but we are used to it. We don't have any fancy air conditioning, just some fans that hum all day long. Usually, there is a group of people standing around the front talking while they wait for their orders. We try to be quick, but sometimes things take time when the shop is full. We don't use any fancy computer systems; we still write down most things in our ledger books. It’s a family-run kind of place and we like the feeling of being right in the middle of the town's activity. If you need something and you are near the hospital, you can just walk over. We are usually there from early morning until the shops close up for the night. It is just a regular life in a busy town.
