Down at Plot No.-310 and 311 in the Epip area of Kundli, you’ll find our facility. This isn’t a small bookstore where you come to browse the latest novels. It’s a full-scale printing operation. Replika Press Pvt. Ltd. is where the actual making of books happens. The air here is thick with the smell of ink and the constant hum of the printing presses running. We have large stacks of paper pallets waiting to be fed into the machines and rows of finished books being bound and boxed up. It’s a busy, industrial environment. We have a lot of people working on the floor, making sure the colors look right and the pages are cut straight. It’s a lot of hard work and attention to detail. Kundli is a bit out of the main city center, but it gives us the space we need for these big machines. We don't have a retail counter or a fancy lobby. Most of what we do is behind the scenes, working with publishers to bring their manuscripts to life. Our days are measured in print runs and binding schedules. It’s a bit noisy and it can get quite warm in the summer with all the machinery running, but we take pride in the physical objects we produce. Every book that leaves this plot was handled by someone who cares about the craft of printing.
