Over at 359 Hsiidc Industrial Estate Rai, you’ll find Sawhney Cables Private Limited. This part of the industrial estate is always busy, especially in the mornings when everyone is arriving at once. We have a fairly big space here to house all the cable reels and the production lines. It’s a lot of copper and plastic and the smell of machines running hot. We aren't a high-end office; it’s a factory through and through. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but that doesn't really affect how the cables are made. Most days are spent watching the gauges and making sure the insulation is coming out right. It’s repetitive work, but it’s what we know. We have a small area where we take our breaks and have some food, usually talking about whatever is going on in the news or how the commute was that morning. The Rai area is growing fast, so there’s always construction or new neighbors moving in nearby. We just stick to our routine. When the sun goes down, the estate gets a bit quieter, but we often have late shifts to finish up the bigger batches. It’s a lot of heavy lifting and keeping an eye on the details, but that is just the way we do things here. We just show up and do the work, making sure the reels are wound tight and ready for the next truck.
