If you go down Mc Road in Gannaur, you’ll find us at Shop No-2 in the Municipal Committee Market. Prakash Brothers has been here for a good while. My brother and I, along with a few helpers, run the place. The market is always crowded, especially on weekends. You can hear everyone shouting and the sound of trucks passing by. Our shop is packed with stuff. There’s not much room to walk around once we get a shipment in. We’ve got shelves all the way to the ceiling. Sonepat gets really cold in the winter, so we usually have a small heater going near the counter. People from all over the district come by. We know most of the regulars by name. They stop by to chat even if they don't need anything. That’s just how it is in a small town market. We don't have a website or anything like that. We just rely on people knowing where we are. It’s a simple business. We open early and close when the sun goes down. Sometimes we stay a bit later to count the stock. It’s a lot of lifting and moving boxes. My hands are usually a bit dirty by the end of the day. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy. We’ve seen the market grow over the years, but our shop stays pretty much the same. We like the familiarity of it all. It’s just how we live.
