We have been working here on Bhadana Road for quite some time now. Our kiln is right in Village Khanda, just past the power house in Kharkhauda. It’s a dusty place but that is just how the brick business goes. Every morning we start early before the sun gets too hot to get the clay ready and stacked. People around here know where we are. We just focus on getting the bricks out and onto the trucks so they can get to whatever house is being built next. It is hard work and our hands stay dirty most of the day. There is a lot of smoke and noise when the chimney is going but that is how it works. We don't have a fancy office or anything like that. Just a small spot near the road where people come by to ask about prices or check the stock. My family and a few workers from the village do most of the heavy lifting. Sometimes the weather doesn't help us, especially when it rains and the mud gets messy. We just wait it out and start over when it's dry. If you are driving down towards the power house, you will see the piles of red bricks stacked up high. We keep things simple and just try to make enough for the local needs. It is what we do every day and we are okay with that.
