You’ll find Indo Asian Electrical out at the No. 51 Kilometers Milestone in Murthal. Most people know Murthal for the dhabas and the food, but we’re a bit further along the road doing electrical work. It’s a handy spot because of the highway, though it can get very dusty with all the trucks passing by. We deal with all sorts of electrical components and supplies. The shop is filled with wires, switches, and boxes of parts. It’s not the most organized place in the world, but we know where everything is. We’ve been here for a while, watching the traffic go by every day. Sometimes people stop in because they saw our sign from the road, but mostly we work with regular clients who have been coming to us for years. We aren’t a big company with a marketing team. It’s just a few of us handling the counter and the stock. The summers here get incredibly hot, so we usually have a couple of fans going full blast all afternoon. It’s a straightforward business. We open early because that’s when the electricians like to pick up their supplies. We don’t have a lot of bells and whistles. We just sell the parts and try not to overcomplicate things. It’s hard work, especially when we have to unload a big delivery in the sun, but it’s what we do. The road noise is something you just learn to ignore after the first month or two. It’s a bit lonely out here sometimes, but we keep busy.
