If you head out to the Hsidc Industrial Estate in Kundli, you will find Abrol Watches Pvt. Ltd. at Plot-62. It is a big industrial area, so there are always trucks and workers moving around in the streets. Our place is dedicated to the assembly and handling of watches. It is much quieter inside our building than it is out on the street because you need a bit of peace to work with such tiny parts. We have got benches lined up with bright lamps where people spend their whole day looking through magnifying glasses. It is a bit tedious for some people, but for us, it is just what we do every day. The estate can be a bit dusty, so we have to keep the inside as clean as we possibly can. It is not a glamorous job, sitting there with tiny screws and springs, but there is a certain satisfaction when a watch finally starts ticking. We have been here for years, and most of the staff have developed very steady hands from all the practice. We don't have a big showroom or a place for tourists to visit. It is strictly an industrial setup where the focus is on the daily output. Sometimes the commute out to Kundli is a bit of a pain with the highway traffic, but once you are inside the gates, it is a world of its own. We just keep our heads down and focus.
