Tulsi Academy

Tulsi Academy is located in the village of Shendhuriya. It’s part of the Robertsganj tehsil, out here in the Chopan taluka. We are right near the government hospital, which is the main landmark for anyone trying to find us. Living and working in a village like this is different from the city. Things move a bit slower, but the work is still important. We started this academy because there weren't many options nearby for people to learn. It’s a modest building. We keep it clean and simple. The classrooms have the basics. We don't have a lot of high-tech gadgets, just teachers and students trying to get things done. In the mornings, you can hear the birds and the general sounds of the village waking up. Most of our students come from the surrounding areas, walking or coming on cycles. We know their families. It feels more like a community than a school sometimes. We deal with the usual problems like power cuts or the road getting muddy during the rains. But we just keep going. It’s about giving the local kids a place to study without having to travel too far. We aren't trying to be some elite institution. We just want to be a helpful part of Shendhuriya. We spend our evenings planning for the next day while looking out over the fields. It’s a quiet life, but it’s good to see the progress our students make over the months. We keep our doors open for anyone wanting to learn.
