You can find us on Ghorawal Road in Robertsganj. It’s a part of Sonbhadra where things move a bit slower compared to the big cities. The school building is tucked in there at 231216. We’ve got a plain gate and a small sign out front. It’s a public school, so we have all kinds of kids from the nearby neighborhoods coming in every morning. The road outside can get a bit muddy when it rains, so there’s usually a bit of a mess in the entrance hall from all the wet shoes. The classrooms are simple, with basic desks and blackboards that we still use every day. We don't have fancy air conditioning or anything like that. We just use the fans and keep the doors open. There’s a small staff room where we keep the registers and have our lunch. Sometimes the kids are a bit too loud in the corridors, but that’s just how it is with a school full of children. We try to keep the garden out front looking decent, though the goats sometimes get in and eat the plants. It’s an honest place where we just focus on the basic subjects. We don’t spend much time on fancy brochures or advertisements. Most people heard about us from their neighbors anyway. We just open the gates at eight and keep things running until the afternoon bell rings.
