The mill is located at W-11 in Vikas Nagar, Sonebhadra. It’s a rice mill, so as you can imagine, it’s quite a busy and noisy place during the day. We’ve been operating here for a while and most of the local farmers know where we are. It’s not a polished corporate office. It’s a working mill with heavy machinery and bags of grain stacked up to the ceiling. We spend a lot of our time out on the floor checking the equipment and making sure everything is running the way it should. Sonebhadra gets very hot, and the mill can get pretty stuffy, but we just keep the doors open and get on with it. We don’t have a marketing department or a fancy website. Most of our work comes from word of mouth in the Vikas Nagar area. We handle the rice from start to finish, from when it arrives on the trucks to when it’s bagged up and ready to go. Sometimes a belt breaks or a motor stops, and we have to spend the afternoon fixing it ourselves. It’s dusty work and we usually go home covered in a fine layer of husk, but it’s what we know how to do. We don’t try to make it sound like more than it is. It’s just a rice mill at W-11 where we work hard and try to stay organized.
