Kishor Mobile

If you walk over by the bus stand in Shakti Nagar, you will find Kishor Mobile. It’s a small shop, but we have been here for a good amount of time. The noise from the buses is something you just get used to after the first week. They idle right outside and the fumes come in sometimes if the wind is wrong. We spend most of the day hunched over counters looking at small screens or trying to figure out why a battery won't hold a charge anymore. People come in mostly because they dropped their phone or they need a new cable because the old one frayed. It’s a lot of sitting and waiting for customers, then suddenly three people come in at once. We keep the glass cases clean, but fingerprints always show up again five minutes later. There is a small fan that hums in the corner to keep the heat down, though it doesn't do much in May. We have chargers and cases hanging on the walls. It isn't a huge showroom, just a practical space where we handle mobile stuff. Sometimes people just ask for directions to the bus they need. We tell them and then get back to whatever phone is on the bench. It's a steady life here by the road. You see a lot of faces coming and going from the buses every single day and that keeps things interesting enough for us.
