Operating out of the Satellite area right off National Highway 75 isn't always the quietest way to spend a day. There is a lot of traffic passing by Gajraj Earthmovers Company every single hour. Most of the time, the constant noise from the highway is just something we have gotten used to over the years. We have our equipment parked out in the front where people passing by can see it. It gets a bit muddy out there when it rains, but that’s just part of the everyday job. We spend most of our time out in the yard or talking to the drivers who pull in for a chat. It’s a very practical setup we have going here. There is a small office where we handle the paperwork and keep the keys for the machines. We usually open up quite early before the heat gets too bad in the afternoon. People often stop by just to ask us for directions because of where we are situated right on the highway. We don't really mind helping out. It’s a good spot to see what’s moving through the region. The team is just a few of us who have worked together for a long time. We know the machines pretty well by now. Every day feels a bit different depending on who stops by or what needs fixing in the shop. We keep a stash of tools in the back room. Sometimes the coffee machine acts up but we manage to fix it.
