Dlj Degree College

Our college is out in Village Vaini, which is under the Post-Pauni area in Nagwa-Sonebhadra. It’s a bit of a journey to get here if you aren't from the local area. Robertsganj is the nearest bigger town. We are right in the heart of the countryside in Uttar Pradesh. The college serves the local community who might otherwise have to travel very far for their higher education. We don’t have a polished corporate image or any of that. The building is simple, surrounded by fields and the usual sights of village life. We spend a lot of time dealing with the basics, like making sure the power stays on and the classrooms are ready for the morning. Most of our students walk or cycle from the nearby villages. There is a lot of hard work involved in running a college in a place like this. We don’t have a big budget for advertising, so we just focus on the people who live right here. The atmosphere is generally quiet, except when classes are changing and the students are talking in the yard. We have a small staff who all know each other well. It’s a very grounded way of life. We are proud to be in the 231213 area, helping the young people from Vaini and the surrounding parts of Sonebhadra get their degrees without having to leave their homes. It’s just us, doing our part in the village.
