Nasib Bricks

We are out in the Bankura district. It’s a bit of a distance from the bigger cities, but there is plenty of space for what we do here. Nasib Bricks isn't a complex operation at all. We use the local soil and it gives the bricks a certain look that people around here seem to recognize. The seasons really dictate how we work. When the monsoon hits, everything changes, and we have to be careful about how we store things so they don't get ruined by the water. During the dry months, the dust is everywhere. You can see it hanging in the air over the fields. We have a lot of local workers who have been with us for years. We aren't into big sales pitches or fancy brochures. If you need bricks, you come out, look at the stacks, and we figure out how to get them to your site. Most of our business comes from people who live nearby or contractors who have used us before. We spend a lot of time just maintaining the kilns and making sure the fire is right. It’s a lot of manual labor, and at the end of the day, everyone is pretty tired. We usually sit around for a bit before heading home, just talking about the day's work. It’s a quiet life out here in the district, and we wouldn’t have it any other way. We just keep making bricks. It is what we know how to do.
