We are based out of Balaji Bhavan, at 165/A on Railway Lines. It’s a familiar spot for anyone who lives around here. Thirumala Precicasts Pvt Ltd is what’s on the sign outside, but most of us just think of it as the place we spend our day. The building is older, but it’s solid and does the job. Being near the railway lines means you hear the trains every now and then, which kind of becomes a backdrop to the work. We don't have a big corporate setup. It’s mostly just the workshop area and a couple of rooms for the paperwork. There’s usually a bit of grease and dust around because that’s the nature of what we do. We don't try to hide it. We aren't trying to impress anyone with a fancy lobby. We just want to get the casting and the technical stuff right. Most of the guys here have been working with their hands for a long time. They know the machines better than they know their own cars. It’s a quiet kind of work, very focused. We take our breaks together and talk about the local news or whatever’s happening in town. It’s a very straightforward way of running things. No one’s trying to be a big boss here. We just have our tasks and we get on with them. It’s a local business through and through, and we like keeping it that way without extra fluff.
